President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the request from the Nigerian army chief Tukur Buratai to swing into action in the ongoing #EndSARS protest across the nation.
The Nigerian chief of staff said that heavily armed soldiers with directive to fire will be the last resort to this ongoing menance currently ravaging the peace of government.
Buratai asked for the president's permission on Wednesday night at about 11:00 PM to disperse the protesters in Lagos and Abuja.
Trunnion News gathered that Buratai is afraid Incase the protest will escalate to revolution if not tamed immediately.
The Nigerian youths are very aggressive and wants all forms of police brutality to end at all cost.
The government needs to find a way in resolving this lingering issue with the youths.
The National security adviser named Babagana Monguno did not attend the meeting but source said that he will be communicated as soon as possible.
The Police chief Mohammed Adamu announced a new unit called SWAT on Sunday. Adding that this new unit in police force will not harass the youths like SARS.
He added that, the new unit will replace the SARS.
President Muhammadu Buhari reaffirms that, his administration will take police reform seriously and also urged protesters to embrace dialogue for a sustainable outcome.
All the pleas from the government to the protesters falls on deaf ears.
