Gowon finally replies UK parliament after accusations of stealing half of CBN funds

Recently, Nigeria was thrown into chaos as the UK parliament labeled former head of state as looter and a political thief.

During the parliamentary section in the UK, a British parliamentarian named Tom Tugendhat had made deafening allegations against Nigerian former head of state Yakubu Gowon on 23rd of November.

The issue was raised when the British lawmakers debated a petition targeting some Nigerian government officials who were involved in the #EndSARS protest.

Nigerians Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), replied to the allegations against him that he engaged in a fraud as he was accused of stealing half of Nigerians money in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) when he was on exile in the UK in July 1975.

Gowon stated that the information is "rubbish" and "untrue".

He also said that he served Nigeria delligently and his time of service is an open book that everyone can always refer to.
