Monday 9th November, Igbueben police station was attacked and two policemen , inspector and constable were allegedly injured by armed robbers.
Trunnion News gathered that unspecified numbers of policemen were said to be injured during the attack which occurred at about 8PM on Monday.
The armed robbers were said to have thrown dynamite into the police station before entering into where armours are kept and carted away with them.
The incident ignited protest in Igbueben community with the youths alleging that the police station was invaded by people that are not in the community and urged the government to take a decisive action.
Chidi Nwabuzor, Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Edo State made a statement on the 9th of November that "suspected hoodlums invaded the Igbueben police station, immediately the police personnel was mobilized to repel against them.
"During the gun battle, one of the suspected armed robbers was shot dead, two policemen were wounded and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
"No police man was killed during the attack. The police are doing their best to fetch out the pepertrators of this Illinois crime.
