Yoruba traditional rulers advised Buhari to return Nigeria to true federalism


• Yoruba leaders demands equal treatment for all
• Action again constitutional summits
• Wants security, unemployment to be fixed.

On Sunday 9th of November, the Yoruba leaders told President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently move the country to true federalism to avoid all the underlined problems that instigated the #EndSARS protest in the country.

The meeting was held in Lagos at the instance of President Buhari over the recent #EndSARS protest that spread like wide fire in all the city centers in the country.

Yoruba leaders suggested a way of overcoming the recent challenges ravaging the country at large.

The traditional leaders who were in attendance in the meeting includes Oba Adebanji, Olu of Illaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, Alawe of Ilewe–Ekiti, Alafin of Ekiti, Oba Fredrick Akinrutan, Olugbo of Ugboland, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi amongst others. Also in attendance were Governors and Ministers from the south west zone in Yoruba land.

The Federal delegation who were in attendance are the Chief of Staff to the President, Proff. Ibrahim Gambari (Leader), Alhaji Lai Mohammed (Minister of Information and Culture), Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu and Director General, Department of State Services (DSS), Alhaji Magaji Bichi.

The chiefs said the Federal Government must give more powers to the state, especially in the area security and economy. Else, the nation will continue to experience protests and unrest.
